Demonstration plots of the goods of forage mixtures for adaptation to climate change
ENG: The DEMOMIX project seeks to increase the scope of influence of the results of the SUSFORAGE and LegacyNet international projects, which evaluate the benefits of the diversity of fodder species planted on agronomic productivity and the environment. SUSFORAGE compares direct grazing systems with fallow systems in the Mediterranean area as a mechanism for adapting to climate change. LegacyNet assesses the persistence over time of the benefits of seed diversity in rotational systems. For this purpose, actions will be taken to identify the state of the art on forage production at the Catalan level and to identify the main needs and opportunities while promoting forage mixtures and the diversity sown. Once these have been identified, transfer actions will be carried out in the agro-livestock sector in order to show the potential that forage mixtures have on goods and services and efficient management strategies will be shown to improve the economic results of livestock farms, while respecting the environment and adapt to climate change.
CAT: El projecte DEMOMIX busca incrementar la influència dels projectes internacionals SUSFORAGE i LegacyNet sobre els beneficis de la diversitat sembrada d’espècies farratgeres sobre la productivitat i el medi ambient. SUSFORAGE compara sistemes de pastura directa amb sistemes de dall en l’àmbit mediterrani com a mecanisme d’adaptació al canvi climàtic. LegacyNet avalua la persistència en el temps dels beneficis de la diversitat sembrada en sistemes rotacionals. S’han endegat accions per identificar l’estat de l’art sobre la producció de farratges a nivell català i identificar les principals necessitats i oportunitats a l’hora de promocionar les barreges farratgeres i la diversitat sembrada. Es detecta un gran interès dins del sector agrari sobre aquestes activitats. Es preparen les accions de transferència al sector agro-ramader per mostrar el potencial de les barreges sobre els béns i serveis i proporcionar estratègies de gestió eficients per millorar els resultats econòmics, i alhora adaptar-se al canvi climàtic.
