2010 – OBAMA Optimización del binomio diversidad-BAlance de carbono Mediado por las estrategias de gestión Agropastoral

In the current global change scenario, it is necessary to develop agropastoral management strategies which allow the optimization of the goods (forage productivity and quality) and services (C sequestration) provided. In the proposed study, we develop an integrated analysis of the mechanisms and processes involved in the diversity-function relationship, and its transmission across trophic levels acording to the composition of primary producers. This effect on the soil biota structure and composition, will in turn affect the processes that it performs, such as the mineralization, decomposition and denitrification, associated to the nutrient cycles and GHG balances.
